Kim Go-eun collapsed, and this actor was taken to the emergency room while helping her

Kim Go-eun and Lee Sang-yi’s connection dates back to their college days. Both were part of the Class of 2010 at the Korea National University of Arts and have maintained a close friendship from their school years to the present.
Recently, a heartwarming story from their college days has been drawing attention once again.
During her appearance on the variety show “You Quiz on the Block”, Kim Go-eun shared an anecdote about how Lee Sang-yi helped her in an emergency situation during their college days.
The incident occurred during their final semester, in an improvisational acting class. Kim Go-eun began to feel unwell during the session and hurriedly left the practice room for the hallway.
However, she collapsed near a pile of shoes just outside. Seeing this, Lee Sang-yi, who was in the same space, shouted “Go-eun!” and ran out of the practice room.
In his haste to open the door, however, his big toe got caught, ripping his toenail off in the process.
Despite the intense pain, Lee Sang-yi managed to get up and help, but ultimately another classmate carried Kim Go-eun to the school clinic.
Lee Sang-yi, who had sustained a more severe injury, was taken to the emergency room for treatment. This incident cemented their reputation among peers as “loyal friends”, a bond they have cherished ever since.
Meanwhile, Kim Go-eun expressed her gratitude to Lee Sang-yi, who made a special appearance in the movie “Love in the Big City”, “If actor Lee Sang-yi ever needs me, I’ll always be ready to run to his side.”
